Virtualisation: Technology vs Culture (?)

After my previous pagemark a few days ago to an article and discussion on ReadWriteWeb regarding virtualisation and “the cloud”, I’ve now located no less than two thoughtfull articles that cover a different approach towards SaaS/Cloud Computing; Jeremiah Owyang from Forrester highlights the organisational and human aspects towards this subject, while the post on GigaOm takes a more technical approach.

Both make for very interesting reads, though I honestly have to admit I scanned them quickly because I’m a bit short on time, so please stay tuned for my ‘Blurb tying all this together.

Last week I’ve tweeted on the milestone that Salesforce.com reached in revenue: 1 billion USD in the past financial year… One Billion. Dell even tried to become the sole owner of  the words “Cloud Computing”, allegedly hoping to turn it into a full brand.

Seeing a trend here? Hint: Whatever your stance may be on Cloud Computing, it isn’t going to go away, far from it, and no, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution either, but it’s coming and I believe it’s the next big, slow-burning disruptive technology/development on the horizon. Stay tuned!)
